Swedish recording artist Kristian Matsson aka. The Tallest Man On Earth is easily one of the more mysterious artists around. Touring mostly in Europe and wowing critics with his record Shallow Grave, AND having the hefty and overwhelming comparison of the modern day Bob Dylan. Well hes back with some new material and has signed to a new label, "Dead Oceans". His new record Wild Hunt is due out April 14. Until then here is a downloadable mp3 of his new song "King Of Spain". And by the sounds of it, Kristian has done it again. Is one of the better songs ive heard this year, Just hearing "Wearing my boots of Spanish Leather" gives me deja vu. Well heres to a great musician by evey definition of the word.

Help Yourself.
I saw Up in the Air for the second time last night. And both times that I have seen this great movie, theres this montage near the end with a beautiful song that really just grabs at your heartstrings and makes the film almost twice as better just with this just one song. Not many songs in a film are able to do that. In fact the song which is "Help Yourself" by Sad Brad Smith would have been nominated for a Golden Globe if it wasnt for some qualifications it didnt require. Boo! Anyways its probably the best song ive heard in a film in a long long time. Heres a short video and sample of the song, Its great to listen to on a rainy day just like this one.
Who Cares Why.
Josiah Wolf of Why is stepping out of the band to release his own solo album, Jet Lag. The album was said to be composed during the break up of an eleven year relationship. Nevertheless heres the opening track off the album. Which actually is very good.

Late Night Victims Unit.
With all the drama surrounding late night right now, and damn Jay Leno taking Conan's job :( My old pal Davey helped ease my pain with this funny clip involving Law and Order SVU and NBC's latenight schedule. Is it just me, or does Carson look a bit gangsta sincel leaving MTV?
Princeton.
With easily one of the best albums of the year with "Cocoon of Love" The twin bros and two buds that make up Princeton have had quite an exciting year. A successful album, Fun in the sun shows in LA and their hometown Santa Monica and their music videos have become hits around the web, heres there video for MARTINA AND CLIVE KRANTZ, even though its from a few months back. Still fun to fun to watch. And Watch out theres a killer on the loose in this video!

Every Corner Abandoned Too Soon.
Today I look into the past, I spotlight two of the most influential artists of Music history: Joy Division and Joe Strummer Even though both have now been gone (except the remains of New Order) They have two documentaries that help all of us fall in love with their music again. I have watched both of them, and they are truly fantastic. I highly recommend you watching both. There are trailers included with the remaining images of these artists, So take a look.
JOY DIVISION: "
Instincts that can still betray us,
A journey that leads to the sun,
Soulless and bent on destruction,
A struggle between right and wrong.
You take my place in the showdown,
I'll observe with a pitiful eye,
I'd humbly ask for forgiveness,
A request well beyond you and I"
JOE STRUMMER :
"An' if I get aggression
I give it to them two time back
Every day it's just the same
With hate an' war on my back"

Canada, France, Japan, Bikini?
Last night, Canadian duo Japandroids stopped by Jimmy's Fallon nest and performed a relatively new song entitled "Wet Hair" In it the duo offers some non subtle desires. Including "These girls are all Bikini Kill We need a ride to Bikini Island" and a Canadian teen dream "We run the gauntlet Let's get to France So we can French kiss some French girls". Im still pretty upset they didn't play Young Hearts Spark fire. .but eh for the television debut. The results were not too shabby.

Love Comes Close.
Drawing comparisons to New Order and the late great Joy Divison, Cold Cave has cemented their place in the music oblivion. The sad thing is in the oblivion they have been lost, unappreciated, and unrecognized. Where as a band such as The XX have been proclaimed the new IT band. Cold Cave in my opinion is far superior but has been left in the shadows. Created by Wesley Eisold (who has a strange connection to fallout boy, google it!) his former bands include "ex-some girls, Give up the ghost, XO Skeltons, and currently Ye Olde Maids. The man is certainty busy, but with his latest mad creation, Dr. Eisold has created a monster of a sound, its alive. .ITS ALIVE!.
