Christmas Aftermath.
Christmas night was perfect last night. Stephanie got me a laptop case that I NEEEEEDED. Another addition to my Seinfeld colection, and the famous Charile Kelly shirt! And seeing her open her gifts was priceless! Even though working the morning was exhausting, It was a very very good Christmas.

A Very Beloosh Christmas.
Hi! I'm John Belushi! Ah, but you can call me "Beloosh," just like my close personal friend Chevy Chase does. ... You know, it's corny but - but I love Christmas. Hey, I'd love to sit around the yule log and - play with your daughter. ... Actually, I'm not doing much this Christmas. Uh, anyway, how 'bout dinner? I'm not fussy. I'd like some candied yams, some plum pudding, a roast goose stuffed with drugs. ... Uh, quadraphonic sound system would be real nice. And maybe I could use a car - if you've got one, a nice brand new car. If you've got a fifteen year old girl, of course, that'd be nice. Fourteen, I don't care. Sixteen. Nice girl.
Still the best SNL christmas episode ever.

Hozac Morris.
WAX IDOLS - GOLD SNEAKERS from Hayden Shiebler on Vimeo.
One of my favorite labels, Hozac continues to provide some of the most great and obscure music out there right now. It was here where I first heard of the likes of Smith Westerns, X-Ray eyeballs, and most recently Wax Idols. Above I included a new video from the before mentioned, Wax Idols. "Gold sneakers" is is off their new record. And the other video comes from Aussies Slug Guts. The track "Stranglin' you too" is off a new ep. If you haven't guessed it yet, Both can be found exclusively on Hozac's site.

Indian Wars.
If I were ever to win the lotto or be lucky enough to have enough money to splurge, I would immediately buy an Indian motorcycle. I've always thought it is the coolest looking bike out there, and I gotta ride one! I'm thinking the only way to get one is to go on American Pickers. They find the coolest bikes in some barn or in a bush in some old hippie's backyard. Side note, I know the bike Robert is driving in this image is a Triumph model, but you get the idea.

Poison Tastes Like Pizza And Chocolate.
If you woke up with an aching stomach and a mountain of left over candy wrappers on your floor, then you woke up like I did this morning. But if you are looking for remedy for your Halloween hangover then look no further then The Beet's new record! I mean it says it right on the cover: "13 songs about letting the poison out of your system." This is the 2nd LP of the year for New York's finest. But this merry go round is a bit different. For one, You can actually make out what lead singer Juan Wauters says!Of course his "broken English" is still hard to comprehend at times but it simply adds to the mystique of the group. The recording sounds far superior to the previous efforts. Far cleaner, and sleek. For example the single "Doing as I do" is almost unrecognizable of The Beets. It is only until you hear more of Juan's trademark echoes and guitar plucking until you figure it out. The other change on this record, is the addition of drummer/ singer Chie Mori. The addition of a female voice to the normal boys club adds an unusual but refreshing spin to the common sound. Her background yelps also in a form of a broken English adds a different dimension. The whole album I thought it sounded more like The Turtles then The Ramones. Which I know is an insult to the group but it works really well here. Sure you can not say it is miles better then there last release, but it is an improvement. An improvement from two solid albums is means to a great collection of songs. I want to point out that the songs here, are mostly singles from Juan's solo catalog. But the new ones here are by far the best Juan, and the group ever produced. The lead off track "You don't want kids to be dead" is amazingly great song about individualism. It can easily be played during a D,A,R,E assembly and the kids would love it. Also to include the "I think I might have built a horse" was something that immediately made me smile. It is in fact the first song ive heard of theirs, and is still one of my fvorites. If you are looking for something to take away that post-Halloween gloom, Pick up some Beets. Amazing art work, fantastic songs, and a handful of life lessons that you can actually take to heart.
Recommended Songs:

The Lone Runner.
Here is the B-Side to the new Alex Zhang Hungtai aka Dirty Beaches 7". The song relies on the idea of fast, faster, and fastest. With banging cymbals and panicked yelps, I like the transition from the common show-gaze drone Alex is known for. Check it out!

How I Feel.
Jerry: Well I don't want to take too much off.
Enzo: Hey who's your barber, eh? You tell the joke, I cut the hair.
George: He massacred you. You look like you're five years old.
Jerry: What if I shampoo? Sometimes a shampoo helps.

Abnormal.
JERRY: Okay? So, she's talking about her panties, so, uh.. So, I said, "You mean the panties your mother laid out for you?"
GEORGE:"The panties your mother laid out for you"? (Jerry nods) What does that mean?
JERRY: (Throwing up his hands) I don't know! It just popped out.
GEORGE: Well, how did she react?
JERRY: She flipped out! Just left.
GEORGE: Well, that's not offensive. (Reflects) It's abnormal, but it's not offensive.
