Continuing my record label theme, here is another new label. Art Is Hard is a UK based label with some pretty promising bands. Though not even having a website, solely relying on their myspace the label is still relatively raw. Below is a recent sampler, there is some pretty good music to be heard and discovered. I'm Still Here.

I'm not sure why i'm so fascinated about this, but ever since his appearance on Letterman, Joaquin Phoenix has become the mysterious enigma everyone is trying to unravel. The pretty boy in his early career, shadow of being River Phoenix's brother, to an academy award nominated performance of the late Johnny Cash, then giving up acting all together to pursue a rap career. I've been waiting for this documentary ever since the infamous interview. Directed by his brother in law Casey Affleck, this is the truth or what at least Joaquin wants us to think is the truth of whats really going on.

Been looking into a lot of record labels lately, and Hozac Records seems to be one of the most exciting and promising.Releasing 7"s of the likes of Woven Bones, Smith Westerns, Jacuzzi Boys, Nobunny, and many many more! But what draws me to the label even more is what they have coming up. Eps and 7"s of newer acts such as Super Wild Horses (who I posted a video of last week) The Flips a really cool sounding girl band. Sleepovers another band you should check out.
