Boys In The Band.

"About eight years and 200 Pete Doherty drug arrests ago, the Libertines released debut album Up the Bracket and became the press-anointed saviors of UK rock. But after drug problems and intra-band strife took their toll, co-leaders Doherty and Carl BarĂ¢t went their separate ways just one record later, with Doherty fronting Babyshambles and Barat leading Dirty Pretty Things. Now Spinner reports that the Libertines will reunite to play England's Reading and Leeds Festivals this summer.

The shows will be the band's first since 2004, and all four original members are on board. The Guardian reports that the band will earn themselves £1.5 million, or about $2.25 million, to play the two sets. Both festivals take place during the August 27-29 weekend.

Of course, with Doherty on board, this reunion should be an unpredictable one. Thus far this year, Doherty has already been arrested for bringing heroin into a British courtroom and for providing the heroin that allegedly led to the overdose death of British heiress Robin Whitehead."
